Description
Clear Acrylic Sheet (known by the brand names Plexiglas, Acrylite, or Lucite) is stronger and lighter than glass, highly resistant to UV degradation, and optically superior to other transparent plastic sheet and most glass plate. It can be cut, bent, drilled and glued using the fabrication supplies found on our website. Cleaners and polishes are also available.
A note on the thicknesses: While we refer to the various thicknesses of acrylic sheet in fractions of an inch (1/8″, 1/4″, etc.), we have also listed the actual thickness (usually a close millimeter equivalent). A note about the note: When Lustercraft first started selling acrylic in the 1950’s, the thicknesses were true SAE measurements (i.e., 1/4″ thick sheet was .25″ thick). Over the decades, much like lumber dimensions, plastic sheet has gotten “thinner” so to speak. Confused yet? We’d be surprised if you weren’t! Don’t hesitate to call us for help!
