Description
Polytetrafluoroethylene: It’s a mouthful. That’s why you usually hear this plastic referred to as PTFE or Teflon. Teflon is a white, dense, fairly flexible, and extremely slick plastic. It can handle a much higher temperature than most other plastics but beware: when it gets too hot if off-gasses noxious fumes. This material is used anywhere friction needs to be reduced. Very chemical resistant, teflon cannot be glued or bonded.
